Hon’ble Mr. Justice Namit Kumar

Born on 4th April, 1967 in a village in District Patiala. Attaining his degree in law in the year 1993, was enrolled as an Advocate on the rolls of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana on 11th November, 1993. Started practice as a first-generation lawyer at the Punjab and Haryana High Court and other Courts located at Chandigarh, on both Original & Appellate sides in various fields of law such as Constitutional, Service, Labour and Civil.

Remained Standing Counsel for Election Commission of India since 2001 and Standing Counsel for National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali. Remained Additional Standing Counsel, Union Territory, Chandigarh Administration and Senior Panel Counsel, Government of India from 3rd December, 2001 till elevation, besides Counsel for various organisations, including Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi; Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh; Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Panchkula; Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Panchkula and Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts under High Court of Punjab and Haryana (S.S.S.C.).

Elevated to the Bench as an Additional Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court on 16th August, 2022.
